About Moltoyo
Moltoyo provides free browser-based text tools, practical writing guides and small measurement studies. The aim is to make everyday text work easier and explain what each result can tell you.
Editorial responsibility and corrections
Moltoyo is the publisher responsible for the tools, guides and research presented on this website. Research is attributed to Moltoyo, and each study sets out its own method, data version and limitations.
To report a calculation error, unclear explanation, source problem or research correction, email moltoyo@moltoyo.com. Include the page URL, the issue and a short reproducible example without private text. General inquiries can also go through the contact page.
Counts depend on definitions
The general counters treat visible Unicode characters as grapheme clusters, so a joined emoji or a letter with a combining accent can be one visible character. Their word count uses whitespace-separated tokens containing letters or numbers. Spaces, line breaks and punctuation have their own counting rules.
A platform can use a different definition. The X counter uses weighted platform counting; the title checker measures text in the preview font. A research dataset can use code points or another explicitly stated unit. Use the definition on the relevant tool or study page when comparing results.
Estimates have stated assumptions
Reading time, characters-to-words conversions and page estimates are planning aids. They depend on reading speed, writing style or formatting. A title preview also cannot guarantee what a search engine will display. For a formal submission, count the finished text and follow the receiving platform's rules.
Guides distinguish platform rules from editing suggestions. External products and search layouts can change, so the provider's current documentation and interface remain the final reference.
Research methods and versions
The research pages publish measurements, corpus details, source references and limitations. Findings describe the measured material and setup. They do not establish universal rules for English, page layout or search rankings.
Published dataset versions are kept identifiable. Corrections are described in version notes or errata rather than silently changing the meaning of a frozen result. Moltoyo's own measurements and documentation and third-party source material can have different licenses; check the terms on each study and download.
Text processing and privacy
Text entered into the counters and formatting tools is processed in your browser. The optional URL lookup on the meta description checker makes a server request to retrieve the public URL you submit. Analytics requires consent; product events use predefined identifiers rather than your pasted text or numeric calculator inputs.
